Team EG has come a long way from its humble beginnings, starting from a single quake team in 1998. Now sponsoring multiple games each with noteable top placements, in addition to a great supportive staff, EG has risen to one of North America's best gaming organizations. Boasting a website, Facebook page, Twitter, and YouTube page, it has become even easier for all our fans to follow us and give us support. With the new year fast approaching, we've decided this was the time to thank you for following us throughout the years!
Introducing Team EG's Ten for 2010 - our way to not only celebrate the new year, but to bring you some of the greatest gaming equipment of the past year. Many of you have been wishing for these items since Christmas - maybe Santa wasn't too kind to you in 2009? Remedy that with our contest! We will be raffling off something from each of our sponsors, amongst them an Intel prosessor, a limited edition SteelSeries mouse, a pair of Gunnars, or even an MSi laptop!
To commemorate this momentous occasion, we will be hiding ONE [1] golden ticket on a certain page of our site each day for TEN [10] days, starting January 1st. All you have to do is find it, and you'll be entered into our drawing for one of our ten prizes. How will you know where to look? We will be placing clues in either our Facebook staus OR tweeting it on Twitter. All you have to do is follow us on both [which shouldn't be a problem since you joined from our last contest, right?] and check back daily for the clues.
For example, if the clue was "This EG player was the star of the infamous video, "n0thing but headshots,"" you would search the website for pages directly related to n0thing and his movie on myEG.net and look for the golden ticket. An example of the ticket is in the banner of this article.
Now for the rules and restrictions - we can't just have one person win all the golden tickets now, can we? Only the FIRST person to find the ticket will be the one to claim it, and each participant can only claim TWO [2] tickets over the course of the contest. To claim it, all you have to do is make sure you're logged in to our site, and just click the ticket! Fear not if you're not internet-agile; the SECOND person will win 15,000 EG points, and the THIRD will win 10,000 EG points. Is your luck beyond terrible? You can still win up to 5,000 EG points after our third place, but be warned: the longer you wait, the less points you'll receive. This setup will be for each day the contest is running. There is also NO point limit to this contest - if you are [un]lucky enough to get second place each day, that means you win all 150,000 EG points - more than enough to win a huge auction and then some!
We will announce the new clue for each day anywhere between 12 NOON EST to 6PM EST. Once the clue is launched, participants will have NINE [9] hours to have a chance at the ticket or points. After FOUR [4] hours have passed, we will release another, but easier, clue. Once EIGHT [8] hours have passed, we will release the answer for the clue. At that point, you are still able to get points, but I can't stress enough - the earlier to the launch time you find the ticket, the more points you'll receive. The timeline will look something like this:
Hour 0 - contest starts for the day, clue is given via facebook or twitter
Hour 4 - another clue is announced via the same media
Hour 8 - the answer is given via the same media
Hour 9 - contest ends for the day
On January 15th, we will host a party on IRC to raffle off our gifts to the lucky ticket winners. As that day draws nearer, more details will be posted. Remember, the contest will start tomorrow sometime between 12 NOON to 6PM EST, so don't miss your first opportunity to get your hands on that ticket!
