I'm not going to lie, even though to me personally traveling is the best part about playing CS, despite my bag being lost on the way back home (and possibly not even coming in time for ESL EM IV America Finals in Edmonton next weekend), I was super happy once we finally arrived in Plano. Right after landing at DFW I called up our roommate Mikey and made sure there will be a car in our disposal to pick up food from WingStop... Say what you say but those garlic parmesan wings with ranch dipping sauce are unbelievable. Later Jordan, Kevin, and I went to the Allen outlet mall and Macy's to buy some clothes, me mostly as I'm still unsure whether my bag will make it in time for Edmonton and Jordan cause right now it's -26° or -15°F over there and he brought no jacket.
After few hours of talking to friends, catching up and just relaxing on my laptop I finally hopped in the bed... And let me tell you, that was sweet. Like I said traveling is nice but hotel beds are still only hotel beds, so just jumping in, knowing you don't have to wake up for anything in 2½ days, and not even bothering to set up an alarm, was an amazing feeling. I don't know if it was being dark outside most of the day or what but for some reason all of us were really tired the whole time in Sweden, even though we got plenty of sleep.
We're supposed to play at least one ESEA match later tonight vs Loaded but I think that still depends whether my gear arrives or not, so we'll see. KLM told me that it would either arrive later today or Thursday evening, which would be really annoying as not only did I pack most of the clothes I normally wear (that I have over here) as we were gone for two weeks, but also all my toiletries, winter jacket etc (which I had my brother bring over to Chengdu just for the Canada trip, lol) but also my peripherals :(.
As far as CS goes (almost forgot?), I think we played pretty well in Stockholm and once again managed to give away a match to SK, but we'll definitely keep improving and I think beating Alternate, mTw & AGAiN with about a week of practice with Ediz already shows we have a lot of potential and I can't wait to go to more tournaments. Hopefully we'll manage to qualify for EM Global Finals (2-6th March in Hannover, Germany) this weekend and then we'll have a nice break from CS for christmas and new years, with the occasional ESEA and CEVO matches online to give us some practice.
My hours are a little messed up at the moment due to sleeping on the planes on the way home and going to bed really early (10pm) so I just woke up about 30 minutes ago and it's now 7am, so I'm going to jump back into bed and hopefully catch some more sleep!
I'll end this blog with a funny story from our bootcamp at IOS. One day me and Danny went to the grocery store across the street to get some snacks and drinks, Danny ended up buying a Red Bull and due to some newly passed law in Sweden, apparently making it 18+, he got ID'd. Now, it might be understandable, but here's a picture of Danny few minutess AFTER said incident:

Also a clip from a random 1v3 at DreamHack vs TitaNs (not sure who made it): http://bit.ly/7pCGNl
Cheers,
Tomi |
